Ps 43:3-5; 119:33 (to ;), 41,43-45, 128, 137, 142, 151

O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.

Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

Teach me, O Lord, the way of thy statutes;

Let thy mercies come also unto me, O Lord, even thy salvation, according to thy word.

And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I have hoped in thy judgments.

So shall I keep thy law continually for ever and ever.

And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.

Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.

Righteous art thou, O Lord, and upright are thy judgments.

Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.

Thou art near, O Lord; and all thy commandments are truth.

Section I

( 1) James 1:17,18

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

( 2) Ps 89:8,9,11,14,15,17 (to :)

O Lord God of hosts, who is a strong Lord like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee? Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.

The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.

Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face. Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of thy countenance.

For thou art the glory of their strength:

( 3) Ps 119:18,34

Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.

Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.

( 4) II Sam 22:47

The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.

( 1) 593:18-18 (to 2nd .)

ROCK. Spiritual foundation; Truth.

( 2) 502:27-28 (to 1st .)

The creative Principle Life, Truth, and Love is God.

( 3) 516:9-12,16

God fashions all things, after His own likeness. Life is reflected in existence, Truth in truthfulness, God in goodness, which impart their own peace and permanence.

The great rock gives shadow and shelter. The sunlight glints from the church-dome, glances into the prison-cell, glides into the sick-chamber, brightens the flower, beautifies the landscape, blesses the earth. Man, made in His likeness, possesses and reflects God's dominion over all the earth. Man and woman as coexistent and eternal with God forever reflect, in glorified quality, the infinite Father-Mother God.

( 4) 503:24

God creates neither erring thought, mortal life, mutable truth, nor variable love.

( 5) 322:3-7

When understanding changes the standpoints of life and intelligence from a material to a spiritual basis, we shall gain the reality of Life, the control of Soul over sense, and we shall perceive Christianity, or Truth, in its divine Principle.

( 6) 70:2-5

The testimony of the corporeal senses cannot inform us what is real and what is delusive, but the revelations of Christian Science unlock the treasures of Truth.

Section II

( 5) Deut 32:3 ascribe, 4

ascribe ye greatness unto our God. He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

( 6) Prov 12:17,19,20

He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.

The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment. Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellers of peace is joy.

( 7) Prov 8:1,14,15

Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?

Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength. By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.

( 8) I King 4:1 king

king Solomon was king over all Israel.

( 9) I King 3:16-20, 22 (to 1st .), 24-28

Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him. And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house. And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house. And this woman's child died in the night; because she overlaid it. And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.

And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son.

And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king. And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other. Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it. Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof. And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do judgment.

( 7) 465:14

The attributes of God are justice, mercy, wisdom, goodness, and so on.

( 8) 595:3-3 (to 2nd .)

SWORD. The idea of Truth; justice.

( 9) 542:7-9, 10, 19-21

Truth, through her eternal laws, unveils error. Truth causes sin to betray itself, and sets upon error the mark of the beast.

The avoidance of justice and the denial of truth tend to perpetuate sin, invoke crime, jeopardize self-control, and mock divine mercy.

Let Truth uncover and destroy error in God's own way, and let human justice pattern the divine.

(10) 294:25-26, 29

Man's genuine selfhood is recognizable only in what is good and true.

The thief believes that he gains something by stealing, and the hypocrite that he is hiding himself. The Science of Mind corrects such mistakes, for Truth demonstrates the falsity of error.

(11) 357:4, 8-9

God is "of purer eyes than to behold evil." We sustain Truth, not by accepting, but by rejecting a lie.

Truth creates neither a lie, a capacity to lie, nor a liar.

(12) 95:6-13, 30-32

We approach God, or Life, in proportion to our spirituality, our fidelity to Truth and Love; and in that ratio we know all human need and are able to discern the thought of the sick and the sinning for the purpose of healing them. Error of any kind cannot hide from the law of God.

Whoever reaches this point of moral culture and goodness cannot injure others, and must do them good.

Material sense does not unfold the facts of existence; but spiritual sense lifts human consciousness into eternal Truth.

Section III

(10) Ps 33:4

For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth.

(11) Prov 14:22

Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.

(12) Matt 4:17-19 Jesus

Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

(13) Matt 13:47 the, 48

the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.

(13) 539:8-12, 19-22

What can be the standard of good, of Spirit, of Life, or of Truth, if they produce their opposites, such as evil, matter, error, and death? God could never impart an element of evil, and man possesses nothing which he has not derived from God.

It is false to say that Truth and error commingle in creation. In parable and argument, this falsity is exposed by our Master as self-evidently wrong.

(14) 547:23-25

The Scriptures are very sacred. Our aim must be to have them understood spiritually, for only by this understanding can truth be gained.

(15) 271:26-30

Those, who are willing to leave their nets or to cast them on the right side for Truth, have the opportunity now, as aforetime, to learn and to practise Christian healing. The Scriptures contain it. The spiritual import of the Word imparts this power.

(16) 548:2-5

Christian Science separates error from truth, and breathes through the sacred pages the spiritual sense of life, substance, and intelligence.

(17) 287:9-11, 22-25,32

We call the absence of Truth, error. Truth and error are unlike. In Science, Truth is divine, and the infinite God can have no unlikeness.

Error is false, mortal belief; it is illusion, without spiritual identity or foundation, and it has no real existence. The supposition that life, substance, and intelligence are in matter, or of it, is an error.

Truth cannot be contaminated by error. The statement that Truth is real necessarily includes the correlated statement, that error, Truth's unlikeness, is unreal.

(18) 276:25

Material beliefs and spiritual understanding never mingle. The latter destroys the former. Discord is the nothingness named error. Harmony is the somethingness named Truth.

Section IV

(14) John 8:12 ye

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

(15) Matt 9:35 Jesus

Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

(16) Matt 12:10-15

And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him. And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out? How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other. Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him. But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;

(19) 30:19

As the individual ideal of Truth, Christ Jesus came to rebuke rabbinical error and all sin, sickness, and death, to point out the way of Truth and Life. This ideal was demonstrated throughout the whole earthly career of Jesus, showing the difference between the offspring of Soul and of material sense, of Truth and of error.

(20) 224:22-5,28

A higher and more practical Christianity, demonstrating justice and meeting the needs of mortals in sickness and in health, stands at the door of this age, knocking for admission. Will you open or close the door upon this angel visitant, who cometh in the quiet of meekness, as he came of old to the patriarch at noonday?

Truth brings the elements of liberty. On its banner is the Soul-inspired motto, "Slavery is abolished." The power of God brings deliverance to the captive. No power can withstand divine Love. What is this supposed power, which opposes itself to God? Whence cometh it? What is it that binds man with iron shackles to sin, sickness, and death? Whatever enslaves man is opposed to the divine government. Truth makes man free.

You may know when first Truth leads by the fewness

Truth brings the elements of liberty. On its banner is the Soul-inspired motto, "Slavery is abolished." The power of God brings deliverance to the captive. No power can withstand divine Love. What is this supposed power, which opposes itself to God? Whence cometh it? What is it that binds man with iron shackles to sin, sickness, and death? Whatever enslaves man is opposed to the divine government. Truth makes man free.

(21) 243:25 (only), 32-3

Truth has no consciousness of error.

Inasmuch as God is good and the fount of all being, He does not produce moral or physical deformity; therefore such deformity is not real, but is illusion, the mirage of error.

(22) 201:17-18

The way to extract error from mortal mind is to pour in truth through flood-tides of Love.

(23) 418:5, 20

Stick to the truth of being in contradistinction to the error that life, substance, or intelligence can be in matter. Plead with an honest conviction of truth and a clear perception of the unchanging, unerring, and certain effect of divine Science. Then, if your fidelity is half equal to the truth of your plea, you will heal the sick.

Truth is affirmative, and confers harmony. All metaphysical logic is inspired by this simple rule of Truth, which governs all reality. By the truthful arguments you employ, and especially by the spirit of Truth and Love which you entertain, you will heal the sick.

(24) 180:25

When man is governed by God, the ever-present Mind who understands all things, man knows that with God all things are possible. The only way to this living Truth, which heals the sick, is found in the Science of divine Mind as taught and demonstrated by Christ Jesus.

Section V

(17) John 7:37 Jesus

Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

(18) John 14:6 I am

I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

(19) John 4:7,9,10,14-18 whosoever, 23 the (to :),25,26

There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither. The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband: For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:

The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

(20) II John 1:3

Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

(25) 26:10

The Christ was the Spirit which Jesus implied in his own statements: "I am the way, the truth, and the life;" "I and my Father are one." This Christ, or divinity of the man Jesus, was his divine nature, the godliness which animated him. Divine Truth, Life, and Love gave Jesus authority over sin, sickness, and death. His mission was to reveal the Science of celestial being, to prove what God is and what He does for man.

(26) 288:29-2

The Christ-element in the Messiah made him the Way-shower, Truth and Life.

The eternal Truth destroys what mortals seem to have learned from error, and man's real existence as a child of God comes to light. Truth demonstrated is eternal life.

(27) 570:14-18

Millions of unprejudiced minds simple seekers for Truth, weary wanderers, athirst in the desert are waiting and watching for rest and drink. Give them a cup of cold water in Christ's name, and never fear the consequences.

(28) 272:3-5

The spiritual sense of truth must be gained before Truth can be understood. This sense is assimilated only as we are honest, unselfish, loving, and meek.

(29) 37:22-25

It is possible, yea, it is the duty and privilege of every child, man, and woman, to follow in some degree the example of the Master by the demonstration of Truth and Life, of health and holiness.

(30) 241:19-21, 23-24

The substance of all devotion is the reflection and demonstration of divine Love, healing sickness and destroying sin.

One's aim, a point beyond faith, should be to find the footsteps of Truth, the way to health and holiness.

(31) 67:23, 32-2

Grace and Truth are potent beyond all other means and methods.

The epoch approaches when the understanding of the truth of being will be the basis of true religion.
