Deut 30:19 choose, 20 (to 2nd :)

choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days:

Ps 27:1,4; 34:1,3,8,10 they, 12-14, 22

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple.

I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.

O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.

What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?

Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

Prov 4:10,13

Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.

Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.

Section I

( 1) Ps 118:24

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

( 2) Ps 42:8 the

the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.

( 3) Ps 90:1,2,4,14

Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

( 4) Prov 3:1,2,13,17,18

My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments; For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

( 1) 487:27

The understanding that Life is God, Spirit, lengthens our days by strengthening our trust in the deathless reality of Life, its almightiness and immortality.

( 2) 184:12

Truth, Life, and Love are the only legitimate and eternal demands on man, and they are spiritual lawgivers, enforcing obedience through divine statutes.

( 3) 468:27-1

Life is without beginning and without end. Eternity, not time, expresses the thought of Life, and time is no part of eternity. One ceases in proportion as the other is recognized. Time is finite; eternity is forever infinite.

( 4) 595:17-19 (to 3rd ;)

TIME. Mortal measurements; limits, in which are summed up all human acts, thoughts, beliefs, opinions, knowledge; matter; error;

( 5) 584:1,4

DAY. The irradiance of Life; light, the spiritual idea of Truth and Love.

The objects of time and sense disappear in the illumination of spiritual understanding, and Mind measures time according to the good that is unfolded. This unfolding is God's day, and "there shall be no night there."

( 6) 202:17

The days of our pilgrimage will multiply instead of diminish, when God's kingdom comes on earth; for the true way leads to Life instead of to death, and earthly experience discloses the finity of error and the infinite capacities of Truth, in which God gives man dominion over all the earth.

Section II

( 5) Ps 143:1 (to :), 8,10 lead

Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications:

Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

lead me into the land of uprightness.

( 6) Ex 16:1 all, 4,7 (to ;), 12-15 At, 21 (to :), 35

all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.

Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.

And in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the Lord;

At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am the Lord your God. And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host. And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground. And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the Lord hath given you to eat.

And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating:

And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.

( 7) Ps 63:1,3,4 (to :)

O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live:

( 8) Ps 36:9

For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

( 7) 133:9-10

In the wilderness, streams flowed from the rock, and manna fell from the sky.

( 8) 298:2-4

Life, Truth, and Love are the realities of divine Science. They dawn in faith and glow full-orbed in spiritual understanding.

( 9) 591:23

MORNING. Light; symbol of Truth; revelation and progress.

(10) 496:9-13

We all must learn that Life is God. Ask yourself: Am I living the life that approaches the supreme good? Am I demonstrating the healing power of Truth and Love? If so, then the way will grow brighter "unto the perfect day."

(11) 324:13-15 The

The way is straight and narrow, which leads to the understanding that God is the only Life.

(12) 492:3-12

For right reasoning there should be but one fact before the thought, namely, spiritual existence. In reality there is no other existence, since Life cannot be united to its unlikeness, mortality.

Being is holiness, harmony, immortality. It is already proved that a knowledge of this, even in small degree, will uplift the physical and moral standard of mortals, will increase longevity, will purify and elevate character. Thus progress will finally destroy all error, and bring immortality to light.

Section III

( 9) Mark 1:14 Jesus, 35

Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

(10) John 6:16-21

And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea, And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them. And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew. So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid. But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid. Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.

(11) Ps 55:16-18 (to :), 22 (to :)

As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me. Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me:

Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee:

(13) 586:1

EVENING. Mistiness of mortal thought; weariness of mortal mind; obscured views; peace and rest.

(14) 306:25

Undisturbed amid the jarring testimony of the material senses, Science, still enthroned, is unfolding to mortals the immutable, harmonious, divine Principle, is unfolding Life and the universe, ever present and eternal.

(15) 264:15,24

When we realize that Life is Spirit, never in nor of matter, this understanding will expand into self-completeness, finding all in God, good, and needing no other consciousness.

Spiritual living and blessedness are the only evidences, by which we can recognize true existence and feel the unspeakable peace which comes from an all-absorbing spiritual love.

(16) 14:25-28

Entirely separate from the belief and dream of material living, is the Life divine, revealing spiritual understanding and the consciousness of man's dominion over the whole earth.

(17) 90:8-12

Divest yourself of the thought that there can be substance in matter, and the movements and transitions now possible for mortal mind will be found to be equally possible for the body.

(18) 215:12

Whatever is governed by God, is never for an instant deprived of the light and might of intelligence and Life.

(19) 506:11-12

The calm and exalted thought or spiritual apprehension is at peace.

Section IV

(12) Ps 27:1

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

(13) Ps 71:9

Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.

(14) Deut 32:7

Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.

(15) Luke 1:5-8, 11 there, 13 the, 18,19,24,25,57,58

There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years. And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course,

there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.

the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years. And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.

And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying, Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.

Now Elisabeth's full time came that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son. And her neighbours and her cousins heard how the Lord had shewed great mercy upon her; and they rejoiced with her.

(16) Job 11:7,13,17 thine

Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?

If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him;

thine age shall be clearer than the noonday; thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.

(17) Eccl 3:14 (to 2nd :), 15 (to 2nd ;)

I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it:

That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been;

(20) 246:4-6, 10-13, 17-20,25-31

Life and its faculties are not measured by calendars. The perfect and immortal are the eternal likeness of their Maker.

The measurement of life by solar years robs youth and gives ugliness to age. The radiant sun of virtue and truth coexists with being. Manhood is its eternal noon, undimmed by a declining sun.

Never record ages. Chronological data are no part of the vast forever. Time-tables of birth and death are so many conspiracies against manhood and womanhood.

Each succeeding year unfolds wisdom, beauty, and holiness.

Life is eternal. We should find this out, and begin the demonstration thereof. Life and goodness are immortal. Let us then shape our views of existence into loveliness, freshness, and continuity, rather than into age and blight.

(21) 69:6-8

Mortals can never understand God's creation while believing that man is a creator. God's children already created will be cognized only as man finds the truth of being.

(22) 249:19-20 (to 1st .)

Organization and time have nothing to do with Life.

(23) 247:13

Immortality, exempt from age or decay, has a glory of its own, the radiance of Soul. Immortal men and women are models of spiritual sense, drawn by perfect Mind and reflecting those higher conceptions of loveliness which transcend all material sense.

(24) 66:14

Each successive stage of experience unfolds new views of divine goodness and love.

Section V

(18) Ps 102:12 thou, 27

thou, O Lord, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.

But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.

(19) Ps 118:1,14,16 (to :), 17,19-21

O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.

The Lord is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.

The right hand of the Lord is exalted:

I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.

Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the Lord: This gate of the Lord, into which the righteous shall enter. I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.

(20) II Pet 3:8 beloved

beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

(21) Heb 13:8

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to-day, and for ever.

(25) 598:21-2

"One day is with the Lord as a thousand years." (II Peter iii. 8.)

One moment of divine consciousness, or the spiritual understanding of Life and Love, is a foretaste of eternity. This exalted view, obtained and retained when the Science of being is understood, would bridge over with life discerned spiritually the interval of death, and man would be in the full consciousness of his immortality and eternal harmony, where sin, sickness, and death are unknown. Time is a mortal thought, the divisor of which is the solar year. Eternity is God's measurement of Soul-filled years.

(26) 360:13

Dear reader, which mind-picture or externalized thought shall be real to you, the material or the spiritual? Both you cannot have. You are bringing out your own ideal. This ideal is either temporal or eternal. Either Spirit or matter is your model. If you try to have two models, then you practically have none. Like a pendulum in a clock, you will be thrown back and forth, striking the ribs of matter and swinging between the real and the unreal.

(27) 244:23

Man in Science is neither young nor old. He has neither birth nor death. He is not a beast, a vegetable, nor a migratory mind. He does not pass from matter to Mind, from the mortal to the immortal, from evil to good, or from good to evil. Such admissions cast us headlong into darkness and dogma. Even Shakespeare's poetry pictures age as infancy, as helplessness and decadence, instead of assigning to man the everlasting grandeur and immortality of development, power, and prestige.

(28) 245:32 (only)

The infinite never began nor will it ever end.

(29) 249:18-19

Life is, like Christ, "the same yesterday, and to-day, and forever."

Section VI

(22) Prov 4:18 the

the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

(23) I Thess 5:5 (to :), 16

Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day:

Rejoice evermore.

(24) Ps 23:6

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

(30) 469:4-5 Life is not (to 2nd .)

Life is not limited. Death and finiteness are unknown to Life.

(31) 289:32

Because Life is God, Life must be eternal, self-existent. Life is the everlasting I AM, the Being who was and is and shall be, whom nothing can erase.

(32) vii:1-2

To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings.
